Project update:

2007 / 2008

Educating NZ is developing a series of worksheets designed to support the teaching and learning of secondary economics students. The first two are ‘The effect of immigration on the economy’ and ‘Exchange rates and interest rates’. The worksheets and supporting teacher notes are available online in the ‘For schools’ education area.

2007 (Aug)

Four educators participated in a one-day review and assessment of the ‘For schools’ website content. The focus group included two secondary economics teachers, one primary teacher and a university lecturer/teacher educator with an economics background.

The objective was to gain feedback and make recommendations on the RBNZ website ‘For schools’ section by identifying:

  • good quality resources
  • resources to cull, modify and/or areas to add new content
  • where improvements could be made to: layout; navigation; consistency with NZ draft curriculum/National Qualifications Framework (NQF); traffic
  • potential for utilising RBNZ scholars.

A final report was submitted to the Reserve Bank with recommendations.
